The Torringtion Early Childhood Collaborative is a diverse group of passionate
individuals who are committed to ensuring the success of all of Torrington’s
children, ages birth through age eight. The Collaborative was created in 2002
when the Torrington Public School system, City of Torrington and EDUCATION
CONNECTION were invited to partner with the William Caspar Graustein Memorial
Fund’s Discovery Grant Initiative in order to improve early school success
for young children. Through a variety of small work groups comprised of parents,
educators, healthcare providers, state and local government, business, faith-based
and other community providers, TECC strives to increase the quality of existing
early care and education in Torrington through public policy and advocacy,
parent empowerment, quality care and education, and successful transitions
from pre-k to Kindergarten.
